Music, Art, Drama

This year, our Preschool Creative Arts Camp will explore the beloved musical tale Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev. In this charming story, a clever boy outwits a dangerous wolf, while each character is brought to life by a different instrument of the orchestra.

Throughout the week, children will experience the story through music, singing, movement, dancing, art, and drama — with a little science and literature woven in. Campers will discover how instruments tell a story, create hands-on art inspired by the characters, and bring the tale to life through imaginative play. Your child will receive plenty of individual attention, and each day will be filled with creativity, learning, and fun!

Join us on Friday the 17th at 2:30 PM for our final program! Children’s artwork will be on exhibit, and families will enjoy a dramatic retelling of the story.

ENROLLMENT POLICIES

  • Fall and spring classes are on a 14-week term. There will be no classes during Spring Break in March, or Tuesday through Friday at Thanksgiving in November.
  • The SOFA Calendar can be found sahouston.com/sofastudents. SOFA’s holiday schedule differs from HISD and St. Andrew’s Children’s Place in that we do not take all of the holidays. In extreme weather, we do follow HISD public announcements for class cancellations. Check with your instructor to confirm.
  • To support enrollment processing and administrative costs, all students are charged a $35 non‑refundable registration fee each semester.
  • An initial deposit or full payment is due at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
  • Registration forms received after the registration deadline will be assessed a $25 late fee.
  • In the event that we are unable to place you in your desired class, you will be notified and given the option to (a) switch to a different class, if it is available, (b) be placed on a waiting list, or (c) be refunded the tuition.
