Executive Summary

Mifik Global Mission is a Christian non-denominational and nonprofit organization registered in the USA with a 501(c) 3 status. Our vision is to be a model Christian ministry for child and community transformation in Africa.

Governing board

Legally, Mifik has 2 boards: the US board (6 members) and the Ugandan board (6 members). However, in the functioning and execution of our duties, we work as one board. We have 9 board members who are committed to their walk with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ministry Focus: The Church, The Child & The Community

Our Mission is to release children and their communities from a culture of poverty and transform them into productive Christian leaders and models of self-sustainability, respectively.

Our strategy is to build Christian communities across Africa. These communities will be comprised of a church, schools (elementary school, high school, vocational/trade school) a medical facility, a missionary guest house, and a farm for both crop and animal husbandry.

When we acquire land in rural areas of Africa, we first plant a church needed in the preaching of the gospel and making disciples. The schools will be centers for children from the slums and poor families to be educated and empowered to return to their communities to improve their family situations and also become Christian leaders in their areas of calling. Farming will be a source of self-sustainability, and will be a catalyst for creating a strong, empowered community. This will also bring about the transformation of neighboring villages, attracting other people to move and build homes and businesses close to our communities.

With this strategy we create opportunities for the preaching of the Gospel and for fulfilling the “Great Commission”- to make disciples of all the world.

Our main operations are in Uganda, Africa, where we are registered as a non-government organization (NGO). Mifik was founded by Michael & Flavia Kirungi in 2013 as a response to the poverty that is endemic to Uganda, poverty that has left millions of children disadvantaged and at risk. Both Michael and Flavia were sponsored children through Compassion International and were released from poverty through sponsored education. They are committed to modeling a Christian ministry that will release children and communities from a culture of poverty.

Our Work In Progress
  • Mifik owns 13.5 acres of rich farmland in Minana Village located in the Mityana district, Uganda, with an ultimate goal of 200 acres to extend the Mifik campus.
  • Mifik Community Church was founded in December 2021 in the village of Minana on our ministry property, and is the fastest-growing church in the community. Construction has begun on the church sanctuary, and is currently paused at the foundation slab level as funds are raised for the next phase.
  • Mifik runs a preschool in the village of Minana that started in February 2023, with 45 learners currently in attendance with a capacity for 200 learners. This is the very first preschool that this village has ever had.
  • In February 2024, Mifik is planning to open an elementary school, beginning with grades 1, 2, and 3. Classes for these grades will temporarily be held in the available office space at our preschool. Fundraising for the construction of our elementary school is ongoing with construction slated to begin in November 2023.
  • On other areas of the Mifik ministry property, various farming projects for both crop and animal husbandry are underway. These projects will be a great source of ministry sustainability as they continue to provide employment opportunities for the community. We currently have planted crops of potatoes, bananas, beans, corn, cassava, and yams, as well as eucalyptus trees. We also have a pig farm with plans of starting a goat farm in the very near future.
  • The Mifik child sponsorship program began in 2016, and has supported over 80 children and youth with school fee assistance, basic medical care, discipleship, mentorship and food relief. Some of our students have already graduated from university and vocational school and are in the marketplace making a difference. Our selection criteria focus on the neediest and most vulnerable children that come to our attention through our local church partners and communities where we do ministry.
  • Every year we host a minimum of 5 short-term mission groups from the US, Europe and Canada that come to serve and preach the gospel with us in the various communities of Uganda.
