Matt Dion
Organ Instructor
Matthew Dion is a native of Somerset Massachusetts and a Doctoral of Musical Arts (DMA) candidate in Organ at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music. He studies organ with Daryl Robinson. Matthew received his Master of Music degree in Organ at the University of Houston. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Organ and a Minor in Music History at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
Matthew performs as a solo organist throughout the United States. As a collaborative musician, he has recently been a featured musician with the Grammy®-winning Houston Chamber Choir, the West Shore Chorale, the Oberlin College Choir/Musical Union, and others. From 2021-2022 Matthew served as the accompanist of the Treble Choir of Houston. In addition, he is a founding member and organist in Reeds and Keys, an oboe and organ concert duo where he performs with his partner and oboist, Anne Pinkerton.
An avid teacher, Matthew maintains a private organ studio of students at all age levels and experiences. He is also on faculty at the University of Houston's Community Arts Academy and the Saint Andrew’s School of Fine Arts Houston as an organ teacher. Matthew currently serves as Assistant Director of Music and Organist at Saint Anne Roman Catholic Church in Houston.
