The long-term vitality of St. Andrew’s mission is supported by gifts to our Permanent Funds which have been established as an Endowment to provide ongoing financial support toward our Programs, Missions, Benevolences and Capital Facilities. As an endowment, the principal in the Permanent Funds is held and invested in perpetuity while the earnings from that investment may be used to support the work of the church.
Gifts to St. Andrew’s Endowment may be made using most any financial vehicle or other asset you can imagine. If you are considering St. Andrew’s Endowments as a suitable place for Legacy Giving or as a part of your estate planning you may want to consider the following additional options of Securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds) or of Planned Giving:
- Planned Giving: The Trustees of St. Andrew’s have a system in place (the “Permanent Funds”) for receiving and maintaining accountability for both designated and undesignated gifts that result from the generosity of the church family and friends. To discuss your ideas on making a gift to St. Andrews, please contact the church office at (713) 667-1703 to speak with a pastor or trustee. Also, if you need assistance with any aspect of estate planning we would be happy to help you locate a qualified professional.
- Securities: Gifts of stocks, bonds or mutual funds can be very advantageous for the donor as well as for St. Andrew’s to donate in-kind. The gifting of securities enables the donor to receive the full benefit of the security’s current market value as a charitable contribution, while avoiding capital gains taxes on the appreciated value. Keep in mind that it is always a good idea to consult with a tax advisor on these matters prior to making your gift. Learn more about gifts of securities.
- In-Kind Donations of a wide variety of items and assets, from used cell phones or vehicles to bulk commodities, may be easily donated to the work of St. Andrew’s. Contact Maria S. Ibarra in the church office (713-667-1703) for further information.
- Cash contributions to St. Andrew’s endowment are welcome and can be made using any one of the vehicles listed for Tithes and Offerings (Cash, Checks, Credit or Debit Cards, or Bill Payment from your personal bank).
St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church is a recognized charitable 501(c)(3) organization under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Your contributions may be tax deductible. Please consult your Tax advisor for further information.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding past or future donations, please contact either the Resources Chair or Maria S. Ibarra at the Church office (713) 667-1703 x230.
