BRUCE ROBISON!

** HOUSTON TX, Coffee House Live at St. Andrew's continues our 2025 season by presenting -- in concert -- BRUCE ROBISON (and his band). Thursday, May 15, 2025. Doors 7:00pm. Show 7:30pm.

In regard to the Lone Star State’s finest tunesmiths, Bruce Robison lands at the top of the heap. His songwriting turned the heads of some of the industry’s biggest artists and took them to the top of the charts (The Chicks’ No. 1 version of “Travelin’ Soldier,” George Strait’s recording of “Wrapped” and the beautiful Tim McGraw / Faith Hill rendition of “Angry All The Time,” to name a few). While those achievements might be considered the pinnacle of a songwriting career to some, Robison has never been one to rest on his laurels. He is always creating. Come hear this Texas legend sing and tell his stories.

BLUE WATER HIGHWAY

** HOUSTON TX, Coffee House Live at St. Andrew's 2025 season rolls on with a show on Thursday, September 11, 2025, featuring the really great, young, and talented Blue Water Highway band.  Doors 7:00pm. Show 7:30pm.

Blue Water Highway is an Austin-based Americana/folk rock band known for their soulful harmony singing, thoughtful songwriting, and live performances that are just as captivating and entertaining as their albums. The band’s core consists of childhood friends Zack Kibodeaux and Greg Essington, who named the group after their coastal hometown highway that runs from the mouth of the Brazos River to Galveston, TX.  Over a decade of national and international touring—from headlining shows to tours with Bob Seger, Reckless Kelly, Shane Smith and the Saints, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Johnny Lang, and Turnpike Troubadours–they’ve made several well-received albums of original music. Blending modern and traditional sounds to create something timeless and familiar, yet fresh and unique, comparisons have been made to artists such as The Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, and Counting Crows. Come hear their incredibly beautiful harmonies and catchy songwriting.

CHRIS KNIGHT!

** HOUSTON TX, Coffee House Live at St. Andrew's wraps up our 2025 season by presenting -- in concert -- CHRIS KNIGHT and his band. Thursday, Nov. 06, 2025. Doors 7:00pm. Show 7:30pm.

For the past 20 years, Chris Knight has only made music his own way. He’s released eight acclaimed albums, played thousands of electrifying live shows and built generations of fervent fans from Texas honky-tonks to Manhattan rock clubs. He’s been hailed as “the last of a dying breed...a taciturn loner with an acoustic guitar and a college degree” (The New York Times) and “a storyteller in the best traditions of Mellencamp and Springsteen” (USA Today). Bottom line, he’s hard-earned his reputation as one of America’s most uncompromising and respected singer/songwriters. And now with his latest record Almost Daylight, Knight delivers the most powerful – and unexpected – music of his career. Come experience Chris and his band in a rare Texas appearance that is not to be missed.

MORE DETAILS

"Coffee House LIVE!" is a community outreach effort of St. Andrew's.  Everyone is welcome!

Several times throughout the year, we will "open" the coffee house for an evening to present live entertainment -- primarily various kinds of eclectic music from renown bands and/or solo artists. We intend to host a variety of local, regional, national, and international artists.  Although this is a church outreach effort, all entertainment is completely secular (not religious-based).

We serve complimentary coffee and cookies.

The Warren Family Center (within St. Andrew's) is warmly intimate and acoustically balanced, allowing artists to connect with you -- the audience -- and showcase their talent. Chairs are plentiful, and there is not a bad seat/view in the room.

There is never a cover charge to enter. However, donations (to help offset costs of artists and refreshments) are welcomed. These events are expected to last no longer than 90 minutes or so, providing you an "early evening" distraction.  All ages are welcome, including well behaved kids (and adults).  Children are to be accompanied by an adult.  Please supervise your kiddos, and keep in mind that this is a "listener-focused" room.

At these events, you will also have an opportunity to learn more about St. Andrew's, if you so desire.

Seating is 1st come / 1st served, with doors opening 30 minutes prior to the show.

WHAT SETS US APART

  • Alternative listening venue (family friendly)
  • Intimate concert experience
  • Artists connect with the audience
  • Artist meet n' greet possible
  • Casual, relaxed, and no $ required

OTHER "RULES" AND REQUESTS

We expect that, for most shows, you may photograph and/or record in a limited fashion, as long as it is not disruptive to the patrons or talent.  Some artists MAY impose restrictions on recording/photography -- these details will be posted for each show accordingly.
